DO NOT REORDER orders that were submitted less than one year ago in SRTS! Due to extreme manpower shortages (civilian and active duty) throughout the Optical Fabrication Enterprise (OFE) and DOW/DON policies that significantly reduce the optical fabrication throughput of active duty opticians, expect significant delays in receiving orders (3+ months). Any reorders will only add to the backlog and create redundant wasteful work. Complaints to the OFE/NORA Customer Service for delays in the delivery of optical readiness eyewear are fruitless as the causality of the delays is far above the OFE sphere of influence. Therefore, please address any complaints or concerns to your elected officials, DON and/or DOW and redirect your patients and unit commanders similarly.

Anti-reflective coating orders should be exceedingly rare and only with solid medical justification in the patient's medical record and referenced in the SRTS comment/note section – even then, the OFE may not be able to actually fulfill your order for AR coating. AR orders have to be sent to an external processing facility, so it increases the cost by nearly double the cost of just the glasses alone while also increasing the time for order processing by 2-3 extra weeks in addition to the time it takes to fabricate the job in the OFE lab. Techs, please make your eyecare providers aware of this reality. Rx'ing AR should be extremely uncommon. It is always best practice (and required by law) to give the patient a copy of their written Rx. With such they can always purchase additional civilian glasses out in town with AR as an add-on if they so choose..

What is SRTSWeb?

The Spectacle Request Transmission System (SRTS) is a web-based application that provides the United States Department of Defense (DoD) military ordering facilities(clinics) and fabrication facilities (labs) with an automated mechanism to order and track military eyewear.

In addition to servicing our eyewear facilities, we also provide our military personnel who are in theatre access to our G-Eyes application allowing our soldiers to reorder eyewear as the need arises.

SRTSweb is a secure system for authorized personnel use only. A clinic or lab wishing to use SRTSweb to manage military eyewear processing, must obtain a NOSTRA authorized account.
